Our father was her for 10 months before he passed. The entire staff was amazing! We were welcome any time. There was a lot of communication and they shared pictures of activities. They treated him like one of their own family. Kimberly was so compassionate! Knowing he was being cared for made a difficult situation easier. Words cannot express our gratitude!

A Personalized Care Home

VC....in Apple Valley ...VC has provided me the small care facility I need for my sister. Kim, AD...is a Professional. She also used social worker skills in dealing with a difficult family member. She did this without blaming the person for what she has Not done. Kim has Several Jobs. She seems to manage them well.Thanks to Kim and Staff for making my sister's room look like she ..."was Coming Home." Jean...(Activites Cordn) is Special to my sister.She helps her to be in contact with the present time. She helps her to Connect with the Past via family pictures,old TV shows and people, songs, and events. Jean and Staff have helped to improve her personal appearance. Thank you Jean for keeping me updated on my sister's progress. Nursing and Caregiving are Hard Working Professions. I have done both. I saw CG at VC do a one person transfer of my sister when she first came to VC. Sometimes my sister hallucinates...seeing people on her porch...She wants to run them away. On one pm shift, Raina and Staff were able to Re..direct her Behaviour. She was taken to the dining hall. She ate well. When taken back to her room,she was ok. Later on she went to bed, and had a good nite sleep. I will only call the center when necessary. I am relieved when Naomi answers the phone. She assures that it's ok ,and she handles the call.Thanks Naomi and Staff. I recommend...Closer Scruting of the Residents Medication Sets/Boxes ......Verying the Sets with the MD Order Sheet. Most of the Residents dont know their meds. MY SISTER HAS BEEN AT VC SIX WEEKS. ON ADMISSION, SHE WAS NOT WALKING. NOW SHE IS WALKING WITH AND WITHOUT HER WALKER. SHE IS STRONG WILLED! SHE CAME UP THAT WAY! THANK VC FOR HELPING HER BE ALL SHE CAN BE....EVEN AT 90 yrs. plus. Sarah Jones.......

This facility was home for my Husbands Grandmother for many years. Kimberly is absolutely amazing! She is polite and extremely patient. This facility and staff are so wonderful that after the passing of our grandmother, our grandfather who has been like family to the staff stopped by since he was there daily for 6 years and sat with them to talk about his wife. He even seems to long to be there himself and I can't blame him. This is a beautiful and trusted place for you to know your family is being very well taken care of. I had the pleasure of speaking to Kimberly tonight under a rather strange circumstance, and she was anything but friendly and I truly enjoyed our conversation and catching up! Thank you for all that you do, it's greatly appreciate it!

I visited this facility

My friend will move into Valley Crest Memory Care. When I visited, I met with the director, and she took me on a tour. We sat and talked for quite a while. She was very open and answered every question I had. I liked her philosophy of treating each of the patients as an individual. When we went on a tour, she knew the names of the residents, and the residents were smiling and happy, so that meant a lot to me. It wasn't the most glamorous facility. I also visited a couple of other facilities which were newer, but I didn't get the same feeling of care, love, and residents being content and happy as I did at Valley Crest. There was an art activity going on with some of the residents. There was an art teacher, and she was working with the different patients. There were patients who were enjoying the outside. They weren't necessarily doing anything, but they have a resident garden where they can work. My friend very much likes to be outside, and as I saw the outside and the opportunities there, it seemed to fit her better. The rooms were simple, but very comfortable. They were very spacious, clean, and well kept. For my friend, we don't need a lot of things because with the memory care, she will move things. The fact is that they were simple, and that is something that my friend needs. She needs simplicity, not a lot of decorations and things all over. The staff was very personable. It was definitely a clean and well-kept facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is a resident of Valley Crest Memory Care for about a week now. The place is very nice and very clean. The staff is very gracious. The administration people are very kind. They walked us through everything, and they explained everything very well. My father's room is a shared room. They have private ones also. They go to the park. They play golf. They have a courtyard for visiting, and they will take them for bus tours. They have a big TV room or a common area for the moment to visit. We have to call and make an appointment. I haven't tried the food, but he said it is pretty good. The facility is easy to get around in.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad is at Valley Crest Memory Care. We like them very much. The staff is all very nice. My dad says the eggs are a little bit runny but that's about it so far. There are all kinds of activities that they're doing every day. They got a calendar. They have a chapel, they have movies, and they also do barbecues outside. I think it's a little bit pricey. The rooms are very nice. Kim was very helpful. I like this one because it's only a mile away, so it's close.

My family can't say enough about how well our father, Luther, was taken care of. We know he wasn't the easiest resident, but the staff always acted like it was their pleasure to care for him. They were always friendly on the phone and very helpful when we had questions. Our mother knew that her husband was being well taken care of, which took that worry off of her mind. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We have been very happy with Valley Crest. We have a family member that had to find a new residence on short notice during COVID. That was an overwhelming situation for us. We looked at three facilities. Though the property is a little older, the staff is FANTASTIC. They care for their residents like they were their own family. They look at the needs and desires of their residents on a individual basis. They have a basic routine, but are willing to modify it to meet the needs of each resident. We couldn’t have asked for a better place for our family.

Valley Crest has been a God-send for our family. There are other facilities that look high end. However, that is only one small piece of the puzzle. There is a verse in Proverbs that says, “A good name is more desirable that great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” There are other facilities that may be a bit ‘prettier.’ But I would much rather have our family at a facility that has a good name and esteems their residents. Every staff member that we have dealt with has been caring AND professional. Valley Crest’s attention to the details of the life of each of their residents is second to none. When dealing with residents that have memory care needs, the most dignified way to encourage them is meeting each one where they are in the process of cognitive decline. The staff at Valley Crest takes the time to develop a relationship with their residents. They are more than tenants, they treat each one like family. They give each resident the time they need. There is no rush to make everyone comply with cookie-cutter care. They understand each resident’s basic needs and seek to help them meet those needs in ways that fit each resident. Our family member felt at home from day one.

God’s Angels

I want to thank the director & staff for taking great care of my Aunt. They are attentive to not only her needs but also the things they know she likes etc... They are observant of her day to day routine so much so that they observed her not being her “normal” self. They contacted me & had her taken to the ER were they determined she was having a TIA . I’m happy to say she (my aunt) is back at the facility and even though the disease is progressively getting worse she is alive smiling and giggling with all of those that smile at her. Thank you all for not just doing your job, but for loving my Auntie!?? (Mark 12:31 Love your neighbor as yourself.)

This is a wonderful community to visit! The love for the residents is known from the moment you walk in the door. Kimberly will welcome you with her amazing smile! They have just finished landscaping the entire outdoor courtyard for the residents, it looks great! Ask for a virtual tour if you are not able to visit in person.

My mother was a resident here for almost 4 years. There were ups & downs but overall she was well taken care of. When problems did arise the facility was quick to fix it. Finding caring staff to care for people with all levels of dementia seems to be an ongoing mission here. The director Kim listens & addresses things head on. Jean & Yolanda are actively trying to make sure residents are engaged & happy. Mark was always a shining star. He held different positions with different responsibilities but was always willing to listen & help. Many of the caregivers treated my mom as a special “grandma”. It has been over a year since my mom passed & I still think of this place fondly.The bumps in the road will never over shadow the good of Valley Crest.

Dearest Caralyn's Angels, I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for taking such amazing care of my mother over the last 3 years. My family is so grateful to you for making her day to day life so enjoyable and full, no matter how challenging her condition. It is very difficult to be far away when our loved ones need our help. Knowing the quality of love and care she was receiving from all of you at Valley Crest was an incredible comfort to me and my family. I want to especially thank all the kind souls that brought so much comfort, support, and love to my mother, and also to me, in those final days and hours. There are some who go above and beyond, to see that your loved one is getting the best care possible. I usually try to visit my husband every day and interact with the staff whenever possible. I visited this facility

We visited Valley Crest Memory Care, which is more of a hospital type setting. The coordinator who gave us the tour was Yolanda, and she was wonderful. They seem to have activities scheduled, and they have both single and shared rooms. The facilities were clean, although a little bit older. We were looking more for a homey type feeling for Mom, but this place felt more clinical. It was a good community and the cost was good, it was just not a good fit for my mom and too far from home. The staff member who accommodated us during the visit was great. I think it's a nice place.
